The It Girl by Ruth Ware
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Will and Hannah are expecting their first child. I loved how happy and excited they were as an expecting couple, but these happy times were overshadowed by events from their joint past that were making headlines in the news again.
Everyone becomes a suspect in this highly charged drama involving a set of Oxford college friends who are all implicated, in one way or another, in the murder of the beautiful April Clarke-Cliveden. April was admired for her beauty and her daring, but her love of pranking her friends was sorely straining everyone’s patience…!
Hannah suffers a near breakdown when she discovers April’s body late one night in their shared dorm rooms. Hannah is hounded by the press and ends up leaving college and moving to Edinburgh. The evidence points squarely at the creepy Security Guard, and Hannah’s testimony helped gain a speedy conviction.
Ten years later, the death of the convicted killer is in the press, and this time doubt is being raised as to whether he in fact was the true killer. Which among them was capable of murder…. and why?!!!
I could not put this one down: I enjoyed every tense, action-packed moment! Highly recommended!
